On March 15 and 16, 2025, the German Masters Championship in freediving was held in Bonn. Our head of the freediving department Uwe Kiehl was one of the competitors in the men's Masters 5 (born 1955 and older). He competed in four disciplines: In time diving, distance diving without fins, distance diving with two fins and in the open classification.

On the first day of the competition, he achieved first place in the morning in time diving with 4:33 minutes. In the afternoon, distance diving without fins was on the program. Here, for the first time in this discipline in the 50m pool, he surfaced after 64.5m. This also earned him 1st place again!

The second day of the competition began in the morning with open course diving (diving with monofins, bi-fins or without fins). In the afternoon, distance diving with bi-fin (two fins) was on the program. In both disciplines, Uwe Kiehl dived a distance of 100 m and also won both competitions with these distances.

He was thus able to win all 4 titles - each with a new German record - as German Champion. We are incredibly happy for him and congratulate him on this extraordinary achievement!
